At the time of the fall of the Berlin wall, the artist Françoise Schein created the Association INSCRIRE as formal non-profit association. Conceived as a positive action, the project was reaffirming the possibility to create transversal links between art, ethics, urbanism and citizenship.
INSCRIRE works with local populations in communities throughout the European Union and the world to conceive and create artistic works and events which highlight human rights principles and cultural diversity, and spark discussion and reflection about both.
Little by little, the project expanded in other countries and it became a network of projects managed by a multidisciplinary team.
