Under the bridge of the train station of Les Mureaux

It is the map of the river Seine from the Estuaire of the North sea to Paris.
The work has been created with the participation of 120 people. The map of the Val de la Seine is conceived like a rhizomatic plant which leaves expresses the multiplicity of the inhabitants’ imagination for a surrealistic and exotic environment. The name of all the participants is located in the river mount as if most inhabitant/immigrants came from the sea….

At the time of the fall of the Berlin wall, the artist Françoise Schein created the Association INSCRIRE as formal non-profit association. Conceived as a positive action, the project was reaffirming the possibility to create transversal links between art, ethics, urbanism and citizenship. INSCRIRE works with local populations in communities throughout the European Union and the world to conceive and create artistic works and events which highlight human rights principles and cultural diversity, and spark discussion and reflection about both. Little by little, the project expanded in other countries and it became a network of projects managed by a multidisciplinary team.
